Zab Judah, Andre Berto and Others Sign with TMT [50 Cent]

50 Cent’s TMT Promotions has signed Andre Berto, Zab Judah, and Celestino Caballero to their roster of fighters after already having Andre Dirrell, Billy Dib, and Yuriorkis Gamboa.  Floyd Mayweather will most likely be a fighter with TMT Promotions also as one of his best friends is 50 Cent.

As I’ve stated before, TMT Promotions has the money to compete with Top Rank and Golden Boy, but now they have the fighters.  In just 11 days TMT has made great progress in becoming legitimate.  They will probably have to sign a lot more fighters so that they can fill their calendar with full fight cards, but so far so good.

It may perhaps be best for boxing to have an outsider come in.  Many of the people running the sport are older and are not familiar with marketing strategies to younger people, such as the 14-24 demographic range, the people who spend the most on sports and entertainment.  Having 50 Cent who is very popular among high schoolers and college kids and is not entrenched in old time thinking about the sport, could be one of the best things that has happened to the sport.
