Adrien Broner Walked to Ring by Waka Flocka, Following Steps of 50 Cent, Justin Bieber, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. [Boxing]

Nothing gets me more hyped than seeing Waka Flocka Flame perform live.

Adrien Broner is a 22 year old American super featherweight fighter.  Saturday he scored a technical knockout against 30 year old Vicente Escobedo.  However, he failed to make weight for the fight and the WBO stripped him of his title.

Broner is an exciting fighter with 24 wins, 20 by way of knockout.  The most exciting thing that Broner has done recently that would reach the masses is have Waka Flocka Flame rap live with his entrance music.  Waka Flocka rapped the song “Lurkin’” and as some people hinted, this brings some extra attention to Broner and his career.

Some of the most marketable boxers in the last few years have been incredibly smart about who shows up at their walk to the ring.

This actually happened. Can you believe 50 Cent, Justin Bieber, and Lil’ Wayne all supported Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his fight over Miguel Cotto? Stuff of legend.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been best friends with 50 Cent for years now and he always raps whenever Floyd Mayweather Jr. comes out to the ring.  50 Cent, most likely a billionaire by now with all his companies and now boxing promoter has a huge pop culture following and obviously would draw attention to Floyd Mayweather Jr., the best selling boxer since Oscar De La Hoya.

To show how intelligent Floyd Mayweather Jr. is at entangling pop culture icons with himself can be seen in his fight with Miguel Cotto, when Justin Beiber walked out carrying his belts.  Just Bieber is clearly out of place and grinning ear to ear.  This benefits both Mayweather Jr. and Bieber as Bieber desperately needs street cred and now Mayweather has the under-18 female audience in his continual search for being totally mainstream.

Boxing, in an ongoing quest to get money, is branching in to other avenues to gain interest.  Get people to hear about your fights, get them to learn more about you and get approval by their artists, and maybe, just maybe, they’ll pay money to watch you fight.
